Scripture, Prayer, and a Path Back to People - Lyle and Ana Maria’s Story

During a summer trip to Virginia Beach, Lyle and Ana Maria reconnected with Ana Maria’s college friend and her son, Jason, who’s been battling ongoing health challenges. They’ve now done two phone DBS times together. In their latest call (in Genesis 2), Jason read, “It is not good for man to be alone,” and realized he’d been isolating. He decided to re-engage with people.

God’s already at work: Jason prayed for his girlfriend during a sudden heart-pain episode, and the pain stopped immediately. He also completed a three-day fast—afterward he could stand for 40 minutes without the swelling in his feet that used to start after ten. Ana Maria shared that Jason associates the onset of his condition with a vaccine injury, and this season has stirred earnest seeking. Paul encouraged the group to notice how the Lord often heals and restores as people process both spiritual and emotional burdens in God’s presence.

Why it matters: Scripture prompts obedience; obedience opens doors to healing, community, and ongoing discovery.

Pray: For Jason’s full healing—body, soul, and spirit—ongoing community, and continued DBS momentum that includes his girlfriend and others.
