Making disciples who make disciples

planting disciple making teams

Whether behind the walls of incarceration, within re-entry charities, or among their broader home communities, the Freedom Initiative plants Disciple Making Teams made up of believing cultural insiders (prisoners, parolees, members of their community) to reach those around them. We use Disciple Making Methods that have been developed and used by missionaries to start Disciple-Making Movements of unbelievers becoming disciples of Christ within some of the hardest-to-reach areas of the world.

Diverse Hands Together

INCARCERATION

Disciple-making teams made up of believing prisoners reach other prisoners by starting and multiplying Discovery Bible Studies throughout the prison. Mentors disciple and coach these teams to be disciple-makers who expand His Kingdom.

RE-ENTRY

FI Mentors guide exiting prisoners as they continue as disciple-makers and re-enter society. FI partners with various local re-entry services and ministries to provide a system of support a new life in Christ as givers to their communities. Re-entering disciple-makers start DBSes now among their families and home communities.

COMMUNITY

To reach the whole community, FI builds team of disciple-makers who integrate within communities affected by crime and incarceration. These teams develop relationships, serve these communities, raise prayer for them, and start Disciple-Making Teams and DBSes among families and other community members.
